Every year, Nova Scotia sends the City of Boston a Christmas tree to thank them for the help they provided after the Halifax Explosion.
In 1917, Halifax suffered a catastrophic event that nearly destroyed it when two ships collided in the harbour starting off a chain of events that would created the largest explosion before the atomic bomb.
