Episode 21

Bristol Lion Attacks

On the afternoon of the 15th, between 4 and 5pm, Joseph Kiddle was left alone in charge when a group of visitors arrived to see the animals. He showed them around but, to their disappointment, the lion was asleep in the farthest corner of its den.

The sightseers had paid money in order to see wild animals “being wild”, and so it fell to the hapless assistant keeper to oblige them. They ended up getting more than they bargained for.
